allow me to introduce myself
Hello and welcome to the new and improved The Southern Venues website and our first blog post!
My name is Sam Anderson. I’m the event coordinator at The Southern Venues and I’m so excited to share with you MORE of what The Southern Venues has to offer. The amount of ideas, inspiration and real weddings whirling in my head is ready to jump out. I want to start by introducing myself so you know who the person is behind the blog, telling you why I created this blog and what you will be seeing more of in the posts.
who I am and why the heck I’m talking about myself
I’ve never written a blog- let alone a blog about myself, so let’s see how this goes together. Speaking for myself, when I read a blog I like to learn who the person is who is writing the blog and how they may or may not relate to me. This helps determine my personal interpretation on the subject and how it effects my thoughts.
With that being said…
I’m 25 years old. I live in Maryland with my fiance- Josh, two golden retrievers- Maverick and Kona and Cat- Goose. Some of my favorite things are; my pets, my fiance (in that order), my family, mint chocolate cookie (not chip) ice cream, salt + vinegar chips and home decor. If I’m not at one of the venues you can more than likely find me at home painting or hanging shiplap on a wall.
One thing I love about working in the wedding industry is hearing everyone’s stories- they never seem to get old… especially the story of my fiance, Josh and I. We met about three years ago when my girlfriend set us up on practically a blind date aside from a few text messages arranging plans. I distinctively remember the way he smelled when he picked me up for our first date. I’m pretty sure I knew that night he was the one. So cheesy, I know. Josh has a way of doing that to me. Maybe it’s the way he genuinely looks to me like I’m the only women in the world or the way he literally goes above and beyond for anyone he loves.
Josh has truly exceeded all expectations I’ve ever had for a partner and I’m truly one of the lucky ones.
We will be getting married this year on October 12 at Southern Charm. Spending this time engaged has allowed me to relate on such a personal level with each couple I am lucky enough to meet!
why I created this blog
My job allows me to come in contact with some of the best local vendors, information and new ideas. I’d love to be able to share all of these things with you to help ease through wedding planning or at the very least maybe you could just relate.
Wedding planning can be so much fun- but it can also be stressful, especially if you’re indecisive like me. Being able to understand other peoples opinions on different topics may help you make a decision- one way or another.
what am I going to post about
Real weddings at our venues. Wedding ideas that are trending. New and old traditions. Any and all things wedding, really!
If you’re still reading… thanks for sticking around!! I hope you’re as excited as I am to start this new venture. I know I’m looking forward to learning about each one of you. I’d love your feedback and I’m open to talking about topics you might find interesting to see in another persons perspective. Let’s hope I’ll improve my writing skills along the way too. Cannot wait!
Until next time.
